Highland Park Scots (Dallas, TX) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Mansfield Summit Jaguars (Arlington, TX), 52-51 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Highland Park upgrades its record to 15-7 on the campaign. The Scots travel to Nimitz (Irving, TX) to play the Vikings in a 6A Region I District 7 bout on Tuesday, January 2. The Vikings come into the bout with a record of 1-10. Nimitz lost 64-51 in their recent league bout against Irving (Irving, TX)

Next up, the Jaguars play the Seguin Cougars (Arlington, TX) in a 5A Region I District 8 bout, on Tuesday, January 2. Mansfield Summit will attempt to upgrade on its 11-8 season record. The Cougars come into the bout with a 13-9 record after their 76-69 non-league win over Haltom (Haltom City, TX).
