Pittsfield Saukees (Pittsfield, IL) supporters were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Illini West Chargers (Carthage, IL), 41-40 in a non-league challenge.

With the victory, Pittsfield improves its record to 11-2 on the campaign. The Saukees travel to Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains, IL) to confront the Cardinals in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, January 3. The Cardinals come into the challenge with a record of 5-7. Pleasant Plains won 56-31 in their recent non-league challenge against Brooks (Chicago, IL)

Next up, the Chargers confront the Barry Western Wildcats (Barry, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 2. Illini West will attempt to improve on its 8-7 season record. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a 3-12 record after their 63-39 non-league loss to Horizon Science Academy-Southwest (Chicago, IL).
