California High School Basketball - Merced trounces Kennedy

December 30, 2023: Delano, CA 93215

The Merced Bears (Merced, CA) basketball crushed the host Kennedy Thunderbirds (Delano, CA), 63-32 in Saturday's non-league test.

The Bears (8-8) will now prepare for their test against Golden Valley (Merced, CA). The Cougars go into the Central California Conference test with a 11-5 record. In their last test, Golden Valley walloped South Tahoe (South Lake Tahoe, CA), 71-31, in a non-league test.

The Thunderbirds now own a 5-9 record. They play next when they travel to Taft for a South Sequoia test on Tuesday, January 2. Kennedy will encounter a Wildcats squad coming off a 68-59 non-league loss to Santa Maria (Santa Maria, CA). The Wildcats record now stands at 8-8.
