The Lake City Tigers (Lake City, MN) basketball crushed the host Winona Winhawks (Winona, MN), 63-39 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Tigers (5-3) will now prepare for their test against Pine Island (Pine Island, MN). The Panthers go into the AA Section 1 test with a 6-3 record. In their last test, Pine Island walloped St. Charles (St. Charles, MN), 79-74, in a league test.
The Winhawks now own a 2-7 record. They play next when they travel to Faribault for a AAA Section 1 test on Thursday, January 4. Winona will encounter a Falcons squad coming off a 82-54 non-league win over Two Rivers (Mendota Heights, MN). The Falcons record now stands at 5-2.
