Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Morgan County Cougars (West Liberty, KY) and the host Martin County Cardinals (Inez, KY), saw Morgan County's basketball squad overcome Martin County by a tally of 75-58.

With the victory, Morgan County improves its record to 10-3 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to West Carter (Olive Hill, KY) to confront the Comets in a District 62 challenge on Tuesday, January 2. The Comets come into the challenge with a record of 5-6. West Carter won 48-47 in their recent non-league challenge against Buckhorn (Buckhorn, KY)

Next up, the Cardinals confront the Johnson Central Golden Eagles (Paintsville, KY) in a District 57 challenge, on Friday, January 5. Martin County will attempt to improve on its 6-7 season record.
