Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the V.R. Eaton Eagles (Fort Worth, TX) and the visiting Mesquite Skeeters (Mesquite, TX), saw V.R. Eaton's basketball squad overcome Mesquite by a tally of 54-42.

With the victory, V.R. Eaton improves its record to 12-5 on the campaign. The Eagles host Byron Nelson (Trophy Club, TX) to confront the Bobcat in a 6A Region I District 4 challenge on Friday, January 12. The Bobcat come into the challenge with a record of 13-8.

Next up, the Skeeters confront the Royse City Bulldogs (Royse City, TX) in a 6A Region II District 10 challenge, on Tuesday, January 2. Mesquite will attempt to improve on its 7-13 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 10-9 record after their 61-59 non-league win over Timber Creek (Fort Worth, TX).
