Illinois High School Basketball - Newman Central Catholic thwarts Orion

The Newman Central Catholic Comets (Sterling, IL) basketball knocked off the host Orion Chargers (Orion, IL), 80-67 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Comets (10-7) will now prepare for their test against Morrison (Morrison, IL). The Mustangs go into the non-league test with a 3-10 record. In their last test, Morrison went down by Fulton (Fulton, IL), 44-38, in a non-league test.
The Chargers now own a 8-6 record. They play next when they travel to Sherrard for a Three Rivers - West test on Wednesday, January 3. Orion will encounter a Tigers squad coming off a 46-37 non-league loss to Byron (Byron, IL). The Tigers record now stands at 11-2.
