Smithtown Christian Knights (Smithtown, NY) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Port Jefferson Royals (Port Jefferson, NY), 85-71 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Smithtown Christian upgrades its record to 5-2 on the season. The Knights travel to Southold (Southold, NY) to play the Settlers in a Section 11 C/D-7 bout on Thursday, January 4. The Settlers go into the bout with a record of 0-1. Southold lost 71-54 in their recent league bout against Bridgehampton (Bridgehampton, NY)

Next up, the Royals play the Southampton Mariners (Southampton, NY) in a Section 11 A/B-6 bout, on Monday, January 8. Port Jefferson will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record.
