Berkeley Stags (Moncks Corner, SC) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Portland Panthers (Portland, TN), 42-37 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Berkeley upgrades its record to 11-3 on the season. The Stags travel to Goose Creek (Goose Creek, SC) to play the Gators in a AAAAA Region 6 bout on Friday, January 5. The Gators go into the bout with a record of 9-6. Goose Creek lost 73-69 in their recent non-league bout against Hartsville (Hartsville, SC)

Next up, the Panthers play the East Robertson Indians (Cross Plains, TN) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 5. Portland will attempt to upgrade on its 6-9 season record. The Indians go into the bout with a 6-3 record after their 47-45 non-league win over Hendersonville (Hendersonville, TN).
