Bowie Bulldogs (Austin, TX) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Pflugerville Panthers (Pflugerville, TX), 56-37 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Bowie upgrades its record to 14-6 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Westlake (Austin, TX) to play the Chaparrals in a 6A Region IV District 26 bout on Tuesday, January 2. The Chaparrals come into the bout with a record of 16-4. Westlake lost 52-48 in their recent non-league bout against Judson (Converse, TX)

Next up, the Panthers play the Hendrickson Hawks (Pflugerville, TX) in a 5A Region III District 23 bout, on Friday, January 5. Pflugerville will attempt to upgrade on its 5-18 season record. The Hawks come into the bout with a 13-7 record after their 63-54 non-league loss to Bryan (Bryan, TX).
