Byron Bears (Byron, MN) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Chatfield Gophers (Chatfield, MN), 66-35 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Byron upgrades its record to 6-1 on the season. The Bears travel to Zumbrota-Mazeppa (Zumbrota, MN) to play the Cougars in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 2. The Cougars go into the bout with a record of 4-6. Zumbrota-Mazeppa lost 66-57 in their recent non-league bout against Blooming Prairie (Blooming Prairie, MN)

Next up, the Gophers play the Waseca Bluejays (Waseca, MN) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 6. Chatfield will attempt to upgrade on its 7-6 season record.
