Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Wayne County Cardinals (Monticello, KY) and the host Casey County Rebels (Liberty, KY), saw Wayne County's basketball squad knock off Casey County by a count of 73-53.

With the victory, Wayne County upgrades its record to 7-5 on the campaign. The Cardinals host Southwestern (Somerset, KY) to play the Warriors in a District 48 challenge on Thursday, January 4. The Warriors come into the challenge with a record of 6-5.

Next up, the Rebels play the Somerset Briar Jumpers (Somerset, KY) in a District 47 challenge, on Friday, January 5. Casey County will attempt to upgrade on its 3-9 season record.
