Lacey Township Lions (Lanoka Harbor, NJ) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Middletown North Lions (Middletown, NJ), 38-32 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Lacey Township upgrades its record to 4-4 on the season. The Lions host Toms River East (Toms River, NJ) to play the Raiders in a Shore A - South bout on Thursday, January 4. The Raiders go into the bout with a record of 4-3. Toms River East lost 49-45 in their recent non-league bout against Point Pleasant Boro (Point Pleasant, NJ)

Next up, the Lions play the Donovan Catholic Griffins (Toms River, NJ) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, January 3. Middletown North will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record. The Griffins go into the bout with a 4-3 record after their 45-29 non-league win over Brick Township (Brick, NJ).
