In Saturday's non-league outing, the Lovejoy Leopards (Lucas, TX) basketball squad beat the visiting Mayde Creek Rams (Houston, TX), by a count of 49-30.

The Leopards (17-9) will now prepare for their outing against Denison (Denison, TX). The Yellow Jackets go into the 5A Region II District 13 outing with a 9-11 record.

The Rams now hold a 2-22 record. They play next when they host Morton Ranch for a 6A Region III District 19 outing on Tuesday, January 2. Mayde Creek will clash with a Mavericks squad coming off a 60-37 non-league win over Dobie (Houston, TX). The Mavericks record now stands at 6-15.
