In Saturday's league outing, the Maranacook Black Bears (Readfield, ME) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting Waterville Panthers (Waterville, ME), by a margin of 62-16.

The Black Bears (4-1) will now prepare for their outing against Spruce Mountain (Jay, ME). The Phoenix go into the non-league outing with a 3-1 record. In their last outing, Spruce Mountain smashed Leavitt (Turner, ME), 61-35, in a league outing.

The Panthers now own a 2-4 record. They play next when they travel to Erskine Academy for a B North outing on Tuesday, January 2. Waterville will encounter a Eagles squad coming off a 55-48 non-league loss to Mount View (Thorndike, ME). The Eagles record now stands at 2-2.
