Paintsville Tigers (Paintsville, KY) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Mason County Royals (Maysville, KY), 56-54 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Paintsville upgrades its record to 6-6 on the season. The Tigers host Pikeville (Pikeville, KY) to play the Panthers in a non-league bout on Friday, January 5. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 9-1. Pikeville won 78-52 in their recent non-league bout against Bethlehem (Bardstown, KY)

Next up, the Royals play the Rowan County Vikings (Morehead, KY) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 2. Mason County will attempt to upgrade on its 7-5 season record. The Vikings go into the bout with a 10-3 record after their 57-42 non-league win over Shawe Memorial (Madison, IN).
