Meridian Warriors (Meridian, ID) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host New Plymouth Pilgrims (New Plymouth, ID), 58-27 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Meridian upgrades its record to 5-9 on the campaign. The Warriors host Mountain View (Meridian, ID) to play the Mavericks in a 5A Southern Idaho test on Wednesday, January 3. The Mavericks go into the test with a record of 2-12. Mountain View won 57-26 in their recent non-league test against Burley (Burley, ID)

The Pilgrims now own a 5-9 record. They play next when they travel to Melba for a 2A Western Idaho challenge on Thursday, January 4. New Plymouth will confront a Mustangs squad coming off a 53-49 non-league win over Fruitland (Fruitland, ID). The Mustangs record now stands at 8-5.
