The Wheeler Wildcats basketball team (Marietta, GA), was nudged 53-52 in Saturday's non-league battle with the visiting Paulding County Patriots (Dallas, GA)

The Patriots now possess a 7-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host South Paulding for a AAAAAA Region 5 battle on Thursday, January 4. Paulding County will confront a Spartans team coming off a 54-36 non-league loss to Morristown-Hamblen East (Morristown, TN). The Spartans record now stands at 2-11.

The Wildcats (6-6) will now prepare for their battle against North Cobb (Kennesaw, GA). The Warriors come into the AAAAAAA Region 5 battle with a 9-5 record.
