North Carolina High School Basketball - Wilkes Central falls to South Iredell

In Saturday's non-league match, the host South Iredell Vikings basketball team scored a good 52-40 triumph over the Wilkes Central Eagles.

In their next game, the Vikings meet the West Cabarrus Wolverines (Concord, NC) in a 4A Greater Metro match, on Wednesday, January 3. South Iredell will attempt to better on its 3-7 season record. The Wolverines enter the match with a 6-5 record after their 46-41 non-league win over Bessemer City (Bessemer City, NC).

With the defeat, Wilkes Central moves to 5-6 on the year. The Eagles travel to West Wilkes (Millers Creek, NC) to meet the Blackhawks in a 2A Foothills match on Tuesday, January 2. The Blackhawks enter the match with a record of 8-3. West Wilkes won 39-26 in their recent non-league match against Elkin (Elkin, NC)
