North Carolina High School Basketball - Porter Ridge nips Berry

December 30, 2024: Charlotte, NC 28208

The crowd at Monday's non-league challenge between the Porter Ridge Pirates (Indian Trail, NC) and the host Berry Cardinals (Charlotte, NC), observed Porter Ridge's basketball team edge Berry by a score of 54-53.

The Pirates (3-11) will now prepare for their challenge against Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC). The Mavericks come into the 4A Southern Carolina challenge with a 4-10 record. In their last challenge, Marvin Ridge was tipped by East Mecklenburg (Charlotte, NC), 52-43, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Cardinals battle the Ardrey Kell Knights (Charlotte, NC) in a 4A South Meck challenge, on Friday, January 3. Berry will attempt to improve on its 4-10 season record. The Knights come into the challenge with a 10-1 record after their 73-55 non-league win over The Rock (Gainesville, FL).
