In Monday's non-league contest, the host River Valley Falcons basketball team scored a big 61-16 triumph over the Foothill Mustangs.

The Falcons (6-10) will now prepare for their contest against Nevada Union (Grass Valley, CA). The Miners go into the Foothill Valley contest with a 3-7 record. In their last contest, Nevada Union was trounced by Ponderosa (Shingle Springs, CA), 69-34, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Mustangs battle the Elk Grove Thundering Herd (Elk Grove, CA) in a non-league contest, on Friday, January 3. Foothill will attempt to better on its 1-13 season record. The Thundering Herd go into the contest with a 4-6 record after their 41-25 non-league win over Galt (Galt, CA).
