The Monsignor McClancy Crusaders (Queens, NY) basketball edged the visiting Lakewood Spartans (St. Petersburg, FL), 61-59 in Monday's non-league bout.

The Crusaders now possess a 6-1 record. They play next when they host St. Joseph-by-the-Sea for a Catholic - Brooklyn/Queens I bout on Saturday, January 4. Monsignor McClancy will play a Vikings team coming off a 74-31 league win over St. Francis Prep (Fresh Meadows, NY). The Vikings record now stands at 2-3.

With the loss, Lakewood falls to 8-6 on the campaign. The Spartans host Venice (Venice, FL) to play the Indians in a non-league bout on Wednesday, January 8. The Indians go into the bout with a record of 7-3.
