The Sanford Spartans basketball team scored 54 points and limited the visiting Portland Bulldogs to 41 in the Spartans non-league triumph on Monday.

The Spartans now possess a 4-3 record. They play next when they host Biddeford for a non-league game on Thursday, January 2. Sanford will confront a Tigers team coming off a 65-55 non-league win over Marshwood (South Berwick, ME). The Tigers record now stands at 6-1.

With the loss, Portland falls to 1-7 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Lewiston (Lewiston, ME) to confront the Blue Devils in a AA North game on Thursday, January 2. The Blue Devils go into the game with a record of 1-7. Lewiston won 36-23 in their recent non-league game against Massabesic (Waterboro, ME)
