California High School Basketball - Homestead holds off Independence

The Homestead Mustangs basketball team scored 53 points and limited the host Independence 76ers to 48 in the Mustangs non-league triumph on Monday.

The Mustangs now possess a 6-3 record. They play next when they travel to Santa Cruz for a non-league game on Thursday, January 2. Homestead will confront a Cardinals team coming off a 68-50 non-league loss to Salinas (Salinas, CA). The Cardinals record now stands at 2-1.

With the loss, Independence falls to 3-5 on the campaign. The 76ers host Oak Grove (San Jose, CA) to confront the Eagles in a non-league game on Tuesday, January 7. The Eagles go into the game with a record of 0-5.
