Marion Local Flyers (Maria Stein, OH) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Botkins Trojans (Botkins, OH), 47-46 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Marion Local upgrades its record to 5-1 on the season. The Flyers travel to Van Wert (Van Wert, OH) to play the Cougars in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 8. The Cougars go into the bout with a record of 6-3. Van Wert won 61-26 in their recent non-league bout against Lincolnview (Van Wert, OH)

Next up, the Trojans play the Riverside Pirates (De Graff, OH) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 4. Botkins will attempt to upgrade on its 8-1 season record. The Pirates go into the bout with a 1-6 record after their 54-35 non-league win over Temple Christian (Lima, OH).
