Rayville Hornets (Rayville, LA) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Alexandria Trojans (Alexandria, LA), 58-54 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Rayville upgrades its record to 8-4 on the campaign. The Hornets host Dermott (Dermott, AR) to play the Rams in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Rams come into the bout with a record of 5-8. Dermott lost 77-46 in their recent non-league bout against Longview (Longview, TX)

Next up, the Trojans play the David Thibodaux Bulldogs (Lafayette, LA) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, January 4. Alexandria will attempt to upgrade on its 10-8 season record. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a 4-2 record after their 56-53 non-league win over White Castle (White Castle, LA).
