In Tuesday's non-league contest, the visiting Fordyce Redbugs basketball squad scored a tight 52-51 victory over the Lafayette County Cougars.

With the victory, Fordyce advances its record to 5-2 on the year. The Redbugs host Spring Hill (Hope, AR) to meet the Bears in a non-league battle on Friday, January 3. The Bears enter the battle with a record of 7-7. Spring Hill lost 60-58 in their recent non-league battle against Lafayette County (Stamps, AR)

The Cougars now own a 10-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Taylor for a 1A Region 8 battle on Tuesday, January 7. Lafayette County will meet a Tigers squad coming off a 68-53 non-league loss to Fouke (Fouke, AR). The Tigers record now stands at 7-5.
