The crowd at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Westwood Panthers (Palestine, TX) and the visiting Cumberland Academy Knights (Tyler, TX), observed Westwood's basketball team overcome Cumberland Academy by a margin of 55-47.

The Panthers (4-12) will now prepare for their challenge against Elkhart (Elkhart, TX). The Elks come into the 3A Region III District 20 challenge with a 6-16 record. In their last challenge, Elkhart defeated Crockett (Crockett, TX), 42-27, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Knights battle the Chapel Hill Bulldogs (Tyler, TX) in a 4A Region II District 16 challenge, on Friday, January 3. Cumberland Academy will attempt to better on its 7-16 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 14-8 record after their 52-48 non-league win over Van (Van, TX).
