In Tuesday's non-league contest, the visiting Fossil Ridge Panthers basketball team scored a close 49-44 win over the The Colony Cougars.

The Panthers (15-7) will now prepare for their contest against Chisholm Trail (Fort Worth, TX). The Rangers come into the 5A Region I District 5 contest with a 10-8 record. In their last contest, Chisholm Trail was tipped by Bowie (Austin, TX), 63-59, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Cougars battle the Highland Park Scots (Dallas, TX) in a 5A Region II District 12 contest, on Friday, January 3. The Colony will attempt to better on its 11-10 season record. The Scots come into the contest with a 12-11 record after their 68-8 league win over Turner (Carrollton, TX).
