The crowd at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Gatesville Hornets (Gatesville, TX) and the visiting Lampasas Badgers (Lampasas, TX), observed Gatesville's basketball team overcome Lampasas by a margin of 50-35.

The Hornets (12-9) will now prepare for their challenge against La Vega (Waco, TX). The Pirates come into the 4A Region III District 23 challenge with a 17-6 record. In their last challenge, La Vega dropped by Vilonia (Vilonia, AR), 47-44, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Badgers battle the Taylor Ducks (Taylor, TX) in a 4A Region III District 24 challenge, on Friday, January 3. Lampasas will attempt to better on its 8-12 season record. The Ducks come into the challenge with a 8-13 record after their 60-21 non-league loss to Franklin (Franklin, TX).
