Southwestern Piasa Birds (Piasa, IL) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Bunker Hill Minutemen (Bunker Hill, IL), 39-26 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Southwestern upgrades its record to 4-4 on the season. The Piasa Birds host Mt. Olive (Mt. Olive, IL) to play the Wildcats in a non-league bout on Wednesday, December 6. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 1-2. Mt. Olive won 49-45 in their recent non-league bout against Lincolnwood (Raymond, IL)

Next up, the Minutemen play the Metro-East Lutheran Knights (Edwardsville, IL) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 7. Bunker Hill will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record. The Knights go into the bout with a 0-7 record after their 46-8 non-league loss to Marissa/Coulterville (Marissa, IL).
