George Washington Patriots (Charleston, WV) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Greenbrier East Spartans (Lewisburg, WV), 66-46 in a non-league bout.

With the win, George Washington upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Patriots travel to Boyd County (Ashland, KY) to play the Lions in a non-league bout on Friday, December 8. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 2-1. Boyd County won 73-52 in their recent non-league bout against Owsley County (Booneville, KY)

Next up, the Spartans play the James Monroe Mavericks (Lindside, WV) in a non-league bout, on Monday, December 11. Greenbrier East will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record.
