The Sumner Cowboys basketball team scored 57 points and held the visiting Independence Tigers to 18 in the Cowboys non-league triumph on Monday.
The Cowboys now sport a 2-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host West Feliciana for a non-league contest on Tuesday, December 5. Sumner will battle a Saints team coming off a 59-21 non-league loss to Albany (Albany, LA). The Saints record now stands at 2-4.
The Tigers (0-3) will now prepare for their contest against South Plaquemines (Buras, LA). The Hurricanes enter the non-league contest with a 1-3 record. In their last contest, South Plaquemines was routed by Phoenix (Braithwaite, LA), 70-24, in a non-league contest.
