    Westwood Patriots (Ishpeming, MI) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Menominee Maroons (Menominee, MI), 61-52 in a non-league bout.

    With the win, Westwood upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Patriots travel to Ishpeming (Ishpeming, MI) to play the Hematites in a Mid-Peninsula bout on Monday, December 11. The Hematites go into the bout with a record of 0-0.

    Next up, the Maroons play the Coleman Cougars (Coleman, WI) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 8. Menominee will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record.
