Damien Spartans (La Verne, CA) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Warren Bears (Downey, CA), 56-49 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Damien upgrades its record to 1-2 on the campaign. The Spartans host Hesperia (Hesperia, CA) to play the Scorpions in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 19. The Scorpions come into the bout with a record of 7-3.

Next up, the Bears play the Centennial Huskies (Corona, CA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 5. Warren will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record.
