Fans at Wednesday's non-league battle between the Verrado Vipers (Buckeye, AZ) and the visiting Independence Patriots (Glendale, AZ), saw Verrado's soccer squad hold off Independence by a count of 1-0.

The Vipers (1-0) will now prepare for their battle against Willow Canyon (Surprise, AZ). The Wildcats enter the non-league battle with a 1-1 record. In their last battle, Willow Canyon was edged by Centennial (Peoria, AZ), 2-1, in a non-league battle.

Next up, the Patriots battle the Fairfax Stampede (Laveen, AZ) in a non-league battle, on Tuesday, December 10. Independence will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record.
