In Thursday's non-league match, the host Schulenburg Shorthorns basketball squad scored a tight 59-52 victory over the Bastrop Bears.

With the victory, Schulenburg upgrades its record to 3-1 on the year. The Shorthorns travel to La Grange (La Grange, TX) to face the Leopards in a non-league match on Friday, December 5. The Leopards enter the match with a record of 2-0. La Grange won 63-31 in their recent non-league match against Hallettsville (Hallettsville, TX)

The Bears now sport a 2-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Varsity Opponent for a non-league match on Friday, December 5. Bastrop will confront a team coming off a 61-42 non-league loss to Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North (Pharr, TX). The record now stands at 66-353.
