Thornwood Thunderbirds (South Holland, IL) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Dyett Eagles (Chicago, IL), 45-40 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Thornwood upgrades its record to 4-3 on the season. The Thunderbirds travel to Crete-Monee (Crete, IL) to play the Warriors in a Southland bout on Friday, December 9. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 0-4. Crete-Monee lost 74-48 in their recent non-league bout against Lincoln-Way East (Frankfort, IL)

Next up, the Eagles play the Fenger Titans (Chicago, IL) in a Chicago Public - White South bout, on Tuesday, December 6. Dyett will attempt to upgrade on its 4-2 season record. The Titans go into the bout with a 1-4 record after their 64-50 league win over Amandla Charter School (Chicago, IL).
