Rector Cougars (Rector, AR) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Maynard Tigers (Maynard, AR), 69-31 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Rector upgrades its record to 5-0 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Riverside (Lake City, AR) to play the Rebels in a 2A Region 3 bout on Friday, December 9. The Rebels come into the bout with a record of 8-3. Riverside won 63-61 in their recent league bout against Bay (Bay, AR)

Next up, the Tigers play the Crowley's Ridge Academy Falcons (Paragould, AR) in a 1A Region 3 bout, on Thursday, December 8. Maynard will attempt to upgrade on its 4-5 season record. The Falcons come into the bout with a 1-9 record after their 69-30 league loss to Marked Tree (Marked Tree, AR).
