Highland Bulldogs (Highland, IL) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Belleville West Maroons (Belleville, IL), 57-44 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Highland upgrades its record to 9-1 on the season. The Bulldogs host Jersey (Jerseyville, IL) to play the Panthers in a Mississippi Valley bout on Thursday, December 8. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 4-3.

Next up, the Maroons play the Collinsville Kahoks (Collinsville, IL) in a Southwestern bout, on Tuesday, December 6. Belleville West will attempt to upgrade on its 0-4 season record. The Kahoks go into the bout with a 2-3 record after their 79-71 non-league loss to Mt. Vernon (Mt. Vernon, IL).
