Illinois High School Basketball - Newton thwarts Edwards County

The Newton Eagles (Newton, IL) basketball knocked off the visiting Edwards County Lions (Albion, IL), 56-41 in Monday's non-league test.

The Eagles (3-5) will now prepare for their test against Robinson (Robinson, IL). The Maroons go into the Little Illini test with a 5-3 record. In their last test, Robinson notched a victory over Casey-Westfield (Casey, IL), 58-23, in a league test.

The Lions now own a 5-2 record. They play next when they travel to Mt. Carmel for a non-league test on Thursday, December 8. Edwards County will encounter a Golden Aces squad coming off a 56-26 league win over Lawrenceville (Lawrenceville, IL). The Golden Aces record now stands at 4-5.
