Scotland Fighting Scots (Laurinburg, NC) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Fairmont Golden Tornadoes (Fairmont, NC), 62-50 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Scotland upgrades its record to 2-0 on the campaign. The Fighting Scots travel to Douglas Byrd (Fayetteville, NC) to play the Eagles in a non-league bout on Monday, December 12. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 0-1.

Next up, the Golden Tornadoes play the Cape Fear Colts (Fayetteville, NC) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, December 7. Fairmont will attempt to upgrade on its 2-1 season record. The Colts come into the bout with a 2-1 record after their 35-29 league win over Purnell Swett (Pembroke, NC).
