High Island Cardinals (High Island, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Deweyville Pirates (Deweyville, TX), 38-35 in a non-league bout.

With the win, High Island upgrades its record to 2-2 on the season. The Cardinals travel to Bob Hope (Port Arthur, TX) to play the Eagles in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 12. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 8-4.

Next up, the Pirates play the Hull-Daisetta Bobcats (Daisetta, TX) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 7. Deweyville will attempt to upgrade on its 2-2 season record. The Bobcats go into the bout with a 0-6 record after their 82-56 non-league loss to Hardin (Hardin, TX).
