Westwood Panthers (Palestine, TX) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Grapeland Sandies (Grapeland, TX), 59-48 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Westwood upgrades its record to 2-0 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Carthage (Carthage, TX) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 7. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 0-1. Carthage lost 64-51 in their recent non-league bout against Harmony (Big Sandy, TX)

Next up, the Sandies play the Connally Cadets (Waco, TX) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 7. Grapeland will attempt to upgrade on its 2-4 season record. The Cadets come into the bout with a 1-5 record after their 60-28 non-league loss to Nacogdoches (Nacogdoches, TX).
