California High School Basketball - Independence nips Porterville

December 5, 2023: Porterville, CA 93257

Independence Falcons (Bakersfield, CA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Porterville Panthers (Porterville, CA), 65-59 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Independence upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Falcons travel to Atascadero (Atascadero, CA) to play the Greyhounds in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 9. The Greyhounds go into the bout with a record of 3-4. Atascadero lost 62-40 in their recent non-league bout against Arroyo Grande (Arroyo Grande, CA)

Next up, the Panthers play the Atwater Falcons (Atwater, CA) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 7. Porterville will attempt to upgrade on its 4-2 season record. The Falcons go into the bout with a 3-2 record after their 47-33 non-league loss to Manteca (Manteca, CA).
