The Western Michigan Christian Warriors (Muskegon, MI) basketball nipped the visiting Northern Michigan Christian Comets (McBain, MI), 49-44 in Tuesday's non-league test.
The Warriors (1-2) will now prepare for their test against Muskegon Catholic Central (Muskegon, MI). The Crusaders go into the non-league test with a 0-2 record.

WMC took an early lead of 9-4 in the first few minutes of the game with a balanced scoring effort.
Second Quarter
The NMC Knights were led by number 40, Danny Maat, and assisted by a plethora of WMC fouls to cut the lead to 2 at halftime.
Third Quarter
Both teams battled back and forth in the third quarter. NMC tied it up due to missed WMC free throw opportunities.
Fourth Quarter
With 20 seconds remaining, WMC’s Ben Moorhead made a 3 to go ahead by two points. Finally WMC’s Derrick Ashley sealed the game with two free throws with 2.4 seconds left.
