In Tuesday's non-league match, the host Cushing Bearkats basketball squad scored a close 44-37 win over the Slocum Mustangs.
With the win, Cushing upgrades its record to 7-6 on the season. The Bearkats travel to Alto (Alto, TX) to play the Yellowjackets in a 2A Region III District 22 bout on Tuesday, December 12. The Yellowjackets go into the bout with a record of 0-3. Alto lost 84-17 in their recent non-league bout against Tatum (Tatum, TX)
Next up, the Mustangs play the Martinsville Pirates (Martinsville, TX) in a 1A Region IV District 27 bout, on Tuesday, December 12. Slocum will attempt to upgrade on its 8-7 season record. The Pirates go into the bout with a 1-6 record after their 49-23 non-league loss to Lovelady (Lovelady, TX).
