Belen Eagles (Belen, NM) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Manzano Monarchs (Albuquerque, NM), 46-31 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Belen upgrades its record to 2-0 on the season. The Eagles host Espanola Valley (Espanola, NM) to play the Sundevils in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 7. The Sundevils go into the bout with a record of 0-2. Espanola Valley lost 58-50 in their recent non-league bout against Albuquerque Academy (Albuquerque, NM)

Next up, the Monarchs play the Bernalillo Spartans (Bernalillo, NM) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, December 6. Manzano will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Spartans go into the bout with a 0-1 record after their 50-30 non-league loss to Highland (Albuquerque, NM).
