Texas High School Basketball - La Joya knocks off Mercedes

In Thursday's non-league contest, the visiting La Joya Coyotes basketball team scored a good 51-31 win over the Mercedes Tigers.

The Coyotes (4-10) will now prepare for their contest against Pioneer (Mission, TX). The Diamondbacks come into the non-league contest with a 6-8 record. In their last contest, Pioneer was topped by McAllen Memorial (McAllen, TX), 66-41, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Tigers battle the Porter Cowboys (Brownsville, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 32 contest, on Tuesday, December 10. Mercedes will attempt to better on its 5-8 season record. The Cowboys come into the contest with a 0-6 record after their 51-24 non-league loss to San Benito (San Benito, TX).
