In Thursday's non-league contest, the host Bolsa Grande Matadors basketball team scored a close 27-22 triumph over the Capistrano Valley Cougars.
The Matadors (4-2) will now prepare for their contest against Whittier (Whittier, CA). The Cardinals go into the non-league contest with a 4-5 record. In their last contest, Whittier was tipped by Sunny Hills (Fullerton, CA), 42-35, in a non-league contest.
